Apple to stop providing Python 2.7 in "future versions of macOS"

Issue #255 resolved
Paul Hargrove created an issue

The following is a quote from release notes in the current macOS Beta:

Use of Python 2.7 isn't recommended as this version is included in macOS for compatibility with legacy software. Future versions of macOS won't include Python 2.7. Instead, it's recommended that you run python3 from within Terminal.

Based on a roughly-annual release cycle, this may mean that a year from now we'll be stuck listing python2.7 as an extra dependency for macOS where today it "just works".
