The problem is your /usr/bin/g++ installation is too old:
```
checking for g++... /usr/bin/g++
...
checking for C++ compiler family... GNU
checking for gcc version string... (cached) 4.8.5 20150623 (Red Hat 4.8.5-4)
```
See issue ~~#19~~ for details.

You need to select a newer GCC install (possibly after installing one) by setting $CC and $CXX before invoking nobs install.
