libtuxtxt.so spews 1000's of "TuxTxt <Biterror in Packet>" messages.

Issue #242 resolved
Ian Brabham created an issue

The serial console repeatedly spews bursts of about 100 messages :- TuxTxt <Biterror in Packet> TuxTxt <Biterror in Packet> TuxTxt <Biterror in Packet> .... The message seems to originate from /usr/lib/libtuxtxt.so.0

Assuming we are using a derivation of the public libtuxtxt these will only happen if the data fail the dehamming process. Which should only happen with corrupted signals. These messages happen even with 0 BER, 99% agc, 99% s/n signals.

I suspect that incomplete or wrong data is being given to the library calls.

Reproduction steps

  • Monitor serial port.
  • See large bursts of "TuxTxt <Biterror in Packet>" messages.
