Fan AUTO is same as fan ON

Issue #286 invalid
Former user created an issue

Normally AUTO means run fan only when chip temperature sensor is higher than preset (70 deg C). I checked it after a cold boot from 17 degree C and power still runs all the time in AUTO. PeterK

I don't know if there are any chip (or any other) temperature sensors. Certainly if there are, they don't get entries in /proc or /sys. The About info screen will show the system temperatures if /proc/stb/sensors/temp0/value or /proc/stb/fp/temp_sensor exists, but neither of those turn up in the /proc filesystem, so this may not be possible to fix.

There are no claims being made that AUTO is the same as "temperature dependant".

If you want to control the fan based on temperature, there's a plugin that will use the results from hddtemp to control the fan.
