Navigation in Web browser using remote is difficult

Selecting hyperlinks in browser using the remote navigation buttons (Up/DOWN/RIGHT/LEFT) is counterintuitive. Moving the cursor with the navigation buttons is is slow, and if you press-and-hold a navigation button, the cursor suddenly goes from moving very slowly to making very large jumps. It's hard to select Web page hyperlinks using the cursor - hyperlinks that are a long way from the cursor can be made active, and it's hard to pick the right one.

Reproduction steps

Use File>Open URL to go to http://bom.gov.au, and try to select Rain Radars. If you succeed, now try to select the radar for Sydney from the map.
