U4 UI display hangs on instant HDMI recordings at some input resolutions

If the U4 HDMI IN is being fed a HDMI signal at 1080i, 576i or 576p, the UI main screen display hangs displaying the "Start recording?" popup when an instant recording is started.

The HDMI IN recording starts as expected.

The UI still operates, with remote codes being received and processed, and the front panel display changes as it would normally, but the main screen UI overlay stays displaying "Start recording?"

When the UI first enters this state, EXIT or RED exits the "Please set recording end time or duration" popup, and stops the HDMI IN recording and deletes the recording files as normal. But if short-POWER is set to Shutdown, and short-POWER is used to shut down the U4, the shutdown process is entered, but at the end, control doesn't seem to be passed to the front panel, because once everything has shut down as far as it will go, POWER on the remote or on the front panel has no effect. The system can only be restarted by power cycling at the 12V switch on the back panel.

Instant recording from HDMI IN works normally if the HDMI IN input resolution is 720p or 1080p.

Replication steps

Connect a HDMI source known to be outputting at 576i, 676p or 1080i to the U4's HDMI IN.

Set MENU>Setup>System>Button settings>Action on short POWER to Immediate Shutdown.

In live TV, use any convenient method (e.g. WIZTV/HDMI-IN) to switch to display HDMI IN, and verify that it's working correctly.

Then REC, to bring up the "Start recording?", navigate to "Create instant recording" and press OK.

The TV screen remains displaying the "Start recording?" popup, but the front panel displays the title of the "Please set recording end time or duration" popup.

If you connect to the commandline interface of the U4 using telenet or ssh and examine /media/hdd/movie (or whatever the default instant recording location is), the HDMI IN recording can be seen to be progressing.

Press EXIT to exit the "Please set recording end time or duration" popup. The TV screen continues showing the "Start recording?" popup.

Short-press POWER. Shutdown starts, but the TV screen continues showing the "Start recording?" popup. The front panel, though shows, "Shutting down". The U4 shuts down, but does not respond to POWER on either the front panel or the remote.
