Cannot seek within videos that have been downloaded from stream

A report on the forums from a user who has downloaded mp4 videos from a streaming plugin. On the 17.5 firmware, the user was able to play back these files and perform seek operations. With the 19.1 firmware, this is no longer possible with any previously downloaded or newly downloaded videos.

This issue also seems to affect any other video files with bad/missing indexes. Something in the 19.1 firmware has made the video playback engine less tolerant of these bad files.

Remuxing the video with ffmpeg or similar will restore seek functionality within when playing back the videos.

Is this a problem with current 19.3 builds?

Are there any sample files available for testing?

I’m inclined to close this bug as invalid as there isn’t much to go on and the most likely explanation is that the files are malformed.

Likely just the plugin at fault here. Reckon its a close.
