Configuring the BibSonomy plugin

Before you can start working with our plugin you have to provide your bibsonomy.org username and your API key in the plugin's Settings dialog. You can open the dialog by pointing to the Plugins menu and selecting Settings from the BibSonomy menu.

Credentials

• Username

  Your username at bibsonomy.org. For using the Plugin, it is necessary to have a BibSonomy account. If you do not yet have one, please Register - it's free and easy!

• API Key

  This is your "password" to access API. You can get it at bibsonomy.org by pointing to your settings page and selecting the settings tab. When you are logged in, the direct link to your settings page is http://www.bibsonomy.org/settings?seltab=2.

General

• Tag cloud size

  By adjusting the value of the spinner you can set the amount of tags you want to see.

• Tag cloud order

  With this field you can set the ordering of the tag cloud. Actually this does not work for the tags of all users.

• Number of posts to fetch per request

  This value gives you the opportunity to set the amount of how many posts will be transfered per request. You will be warned if more posts are available on import.

• Do not warn me, if more posts are available

  By selecting this check box you can disable the warning on import actions.

• Do not warn me, if a post has no tags assigned

  Disable warning messages, if certain posts do not have assigned any keywords.

• Update tags on startup

  Automatically refresh the tag list as soon as you run JabRef.

• Upload documents on export

  If you have added documents to the file field of an entry these will automatically uploaded to BibSonomy if this check box is activated. Uploaded documents will only be visible to you on BibSonomy.

• Download documents on import

  You can automatically download your private documents from BibSonomy by activating this check box.

• Default visibility

  Here you can choose whether you exported entries will be available for all users or just for you.

• Extra fields

  This text box contains all the BibTeX fields which should be visible on the Extra tab in the entry editor of JabRef. Fields are separated with a semicolon.
