Sharing documents for a group hidden in sidebar of the settings page

documents are only visible to others if the group-wide setting is set (ok) AND every user who wants to share documents has to find the small option on the sidebar of his settings page. This is really hidden. We need hints at all document upload places and this option should be on the settings page not on the sidebar.

I agree. I would suggest to have a separate "groups" tab which contains all group-related options.

Regarding the first problem I don't have a good suggestion. We could add some help to the document uploading process that explains handling of documents.

This is already a part of the group rework.

I just had that very problem. None of my students in a seminar group took notice of that share option and thus nobody had access to anyones documents. Please find a quickfix for this as soon as possible! This should not wait until the whole new group framework is introduced. + Please localize share and unshare in the German version

I would suggest to move the group setting for sharing to a different tab, and rename the groups tab to group settings tab.
