Proper links in search results of 'browse publications'

In version 2 and 3, the 'browse publication' (/mySearch) results are not rendered as items with proper links.

This means, I need to click on them to get to the item, but I cannot use 'open in new tab' or so to open multiple of the results. The current situation is not very nice also because the search does not really interact nicely with the browser history. When using the back button, the page is loaded afresh, and one has to retype the search.

It would be great if at least the results could be rendered as proper links, so that I can open multiple items easily.
