author page: ORCID ID only accepted without dashes

If I want to enter the ORCID ID for an author in the form it is presented on orcid.org, e.g., 0000-0003-3271-9653, this is not possible (I don't even get a warning - I only later see that it was not stored). After removing the dashes, the ID is stored.

1. Please allow users to enable ORCID IDs containing dashes and spaces (and possibly other characters).
2. Please give users feedback upon errors and success.
