Assigning work to person A results in redirect to person B

I today tried to assign some works of a given author A to his person page. However, I always got redirected to the person page of person B. I did visit that person B page before, but browsed around in between, so there should be no direct connection between those two (except that they're co-authors).

Please investigate what could cause this and fix it soon, as this seems very unwanted behaviour.

Also, the assigned works did not occur on person A's page.
