Black Soil + Flower bugs?

As of current I am running the 2.0 pre11 replacing the version currently in FTB Direwolf20 recommended version (However it also did this with the pre-installed version). The soil is normal on the sides, yet pitch black on the top no matter how/where I make it.

It also seems to shut down the server with no crash log then perfectly auto restart if I attempt to breed certain flowers. The flowers are still there planted after the restart, and they seem to wilt, die, germinate, and become dead flowers normally.
