Converting bee species with centrifuge

So i was playing on a server and i had a hopper on a centrifuge and i accidentally shift clicked some bees in and then i notice they all were taken out of the hopper and put in the centrifuge. This was odd to me because they were different types of bees. When i looked in the centrifuge all the bees became the first type of bee i put in there. I figured this was a bug and i also tested on a single player world to make sure it just wasnt a random thing.
