Issues with NEI / Creative

Scrolling to the new combs in NEI causes all icons to turn invisible until a client restart and scrolling to the combs or going to search in creative causes a crash.

I have an issues that may be related to this one. When Extra Bees 1.4.0.16 is installed and I am playing on SMP, when opening the inventory screen and clicking on the search compass the game crashes.

However, when i load the game into SP and click on the compass (it does not crash) then without restarting the game I connect to SMP and clicking on the inventory search compass does not cause a crash. I have tested this several times and was able to reproduce the issue and workaround every time.
