Hemlock not breeding (v1.7.0b in the 1.1.3 Unleashed FTB pack)

Have tried for over a day to breed Hemlock. After over 100 graftings, still unable to generate a sapling.

What mutation are you attempting? i.e. which two trees are you using

Bull Pine and Silver Fir -

As a side note, I have bred every other tree in both vanilla Forestry and Extra Trees. I've checked the Escritoire, NEI, and the forums online to make sure I had the right combination.

So do you get hybrids which contain hemlock?

No, all my results are some kind of pine/fir hybrid.

I'm happy to try again and provide a sampling of the hybrids in screenshot form, if that would help.

I can't see why it wouldn't work, try again making sure the saplings are all close because it's a 2x2 tree

I just got a hemlock sapling in 1.7.3b (in unleashed 1.1.3, I just updated binniemods).

edit Ok, it's being a bit weird. So far I've been using bull pine pollen on silver fir trees, and all the hemlock saplings I've got (6 of them) have been from one of the top 2 leaf blocks of the fir tree. No hemlock saplings from any of the rest of the tree.

And after using a stack of silver fir pollen on a bull pine, I didn't get any hemlock saplings.
