Sphinx-users@ moderation blocks questions from new users

Anonymous avatarAnonymous created an issue

Hi, I know this is likely to be closed as won't-fix but the moderation settings on sphinx-users@ makes it difficult for new users to get help with Sphinx. I sent a question to the list (subject "Module Overviews?") almost a week ago but it's still awaiting moderator approval because it's my first post.

I understand the desire to keep spam off of the list, but requiring moderation of new members when you don't have an active moderator simply makes the list useless. It would be nice to either see this restriction lifted or delegated to active community members so messages can be approved in a timely fashion.

Thanks! -Damian (happy sphinx user and developer with the tor project)
