Required checkbox Add-ons don't show error with js but reload the page

When having required add-ons, the ‘book now’ button is clickable. Ideally it should not be untill everything that is required is filled.

The problem comes when there is a required checkbox (or checkboxes) - for some reason jQuery validation does not work and the page reloads with an error. This is bad UX, especially for someone with many add-ons since everything gets removed on page reload.
