This project is written for GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/) as a python-fu extension. It allows the user to pick a camera coordinate (precomputed coordinates that provide a 2:1 grade) and render a texture to the side of a box viewed from that coordinate.
Copy the file "map-box.py" to the "plug-ins" directory and restart GIMP.
C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\.gimp-<ver>\plug-ins
1. open GIMP, open an image - select "Filter" from menu, "Map" sub-menu, "Box" 1.1 select "Fixed" This dialog allows you to pick from a fixed set of camera positions. 1.1.1 configure side: the side of the cube you would like to render to (ie the plane the final transformation should reside in) octant: the sign indicates the corresponding axis (+ - +) positive x-axis, negative y-axis, positive z-axis coordinate: the position of the camera at rendering, fixed to locations that provide textures a 2:1 grade after transform 1.2 select "General" This dialog allows you to specify an exact location of the camera before trasnforming the texture. 1.2.1 configure side: see above x,y,z: the coordinates for the camera position 2. hit okay and wait for process to finish
