Volume problems

Carlos Ribeiro
repo owner created an issue

A problem that I am having is that the volume will start out muted, and then it will, at 5% on the app, will make my system volume jump up to almost 50%, of which blows my mind away since I am hooked up to a home audio system. I think it would be a good idea if the two volumes moved independently of each other.

Also, using F16 on Gateway MX6428 notebook

That's strange, because the two volumes should be independent. I can go up to 100% on radio tray volume, while maintaining my general volume to 20% for example. Wich distro/version are you using ? And are you using pulse audio ?

Fedora 16, kernel 3.3.0-8.fc16, 64 bit is the OS being used. In the sound settings, under the Application tab is listed RadioTray?...it moves the system volume when moved. I do have pulseaudio 0.9.23 installed as well. Sorry, I am somewhat of a newbie to Fedora, been using it for about a year now, but I haven't been too involved in the inner workings of it.

I bumped into this issue In Arch linux / radiotray 0.7.3-4 from AUR (arch user repository). Even the 5% volume on radiotray is very loud, it's 37% (-26dB) stream volume in pavucontrol, where as 'nice' volume for radiotray is about 16%, (-47dB). Master output volume is set to 100%

Same here, on Arch also. One fix would be to add an option to change the percentage the volume increases with each scroll wheel tick. I use Volti for master volume and have that configured to 2% for volume adjustment using scrollwheel.
