More radical approach

Issue #3 wontfix

First of all thanks for that hook. It makes enforcing rules in not fully git aware team much easier.

It would be great to have an option to disable this option: "Legitimate merges, such as merging a feature branch back into master, are not rejected." are reject all merge commits, no matter what the parents are.

So in your company's workflow, you never want to allow merging, ever? I guess I am not clear on what scenario you are trying to prevent?

That's right. I want to prevent all merge commit. Legitimate commits happen once in half a year, and part of the team has a tendency leave so many 'old branches' along development that it's impossible to decide automatically what merges are right and what are not.

That isn't something that I am interested in doing with this plugin. Feel to fork the source and alter it to support your scenario. It will make the code much simpler as you can simply check for any changesets with 2 parents and reject.
