Add an appropriate software license to the code.

Likely Creative Commons -- basically allows anyone to use it (with attribution?).

Creative Commons suggests not using their licenses for software, as they weren't designed with code in mind. They recommend LGPL or GPL. Of the two, the LGPL is the least restrictive (allows for the code to be used as a library in proprietary projects) and the GPL is the more "open" (in the sense that it maintains the openness of the source code).

I'm lowering this from a bug to an enhancement, as I likely won't have the time to make the decision before I turn this project over to Ben.
