CEF currently supports building for x86/64 processors only. Chromium supports building for ARM processors . It should therefore be possible to support CEF building for ARM processors.
ARM support will be implemented in stages:
- Support building of CEF for Debian-based ARM platforms that include X11 (e.g. Ubuntu for ARM).
- Support building of CEF for arbitrary Linux ARM platforms. This step is blocked on completion of issue
#1989(add ozone support and remove X11 dependency).
Example of target systems:
- Upon completion of step 1 Chromebook devices using side-by-side Ubuntu installations will be supported (e.g. http://www.howtogeek.com/162120/how-to-install-ubuntu-linux-on-your-chromebook-with-crouton/).
- Upon completion of step 2 various ARM-based devices such as the Raspberry Pi will be supported.
