Devtool > Network > "Provisional headers" are shown since CEF 94 when going from HTTP to HTTPS

Issue #3255 new
pierre.astruc@evertest.com created an issue

We got a regression, the bug "Provisional headers are shown" has come back in devtool header since CEF 94, and are still present in 95, 96, 97.

I'm using the network panel in devtool to look at the redirection from http://www.magpcss.org/ceforum/ to https://www.magpcss.org/ceforum/

With CEF 93 and older, there is no problem :

  • I can see the request and response headers of the http 301 redirection
  • I can see the request and response headers of the https 200 ok from https://www.magpcss.org/ceforum/ (with set-cookies and all request detail)

Since CEF94, there is no more header for https request :

  • I can see the request and response headers of the http 301 redirection
  • I can no more see the request headers (Provisional headers are shown) and the response header is just empty (no cookie, no data, etc.)

More info

  • The bug is not present in the Chrome same version (tested with 97.0.4692.99 and cef_binary_97.1.9+ga00bca5+chromium-97.0.4692.99)
  • When using the command line “--disable-request-handling-for-testing”, the bug is no more there, but we lost CefResourceRequestHandler -> OnResourceResponse event, which is problematic.
  • When using the command line “--enable-chrome-runtime”, the bug is still present
