README

Bibliography offers a programming library and command line tool to manage a collection of files containing literature and metainformation. Its primary metadata exchange format is BibTeX.

Installation

If you downloaded a prebuilt copy, the executable bibmgr.exe should run on any Unix- or Windows-based .NET 4.5 environments.

To build Bibliography from source you will need an F# 4.1 compiler and .NET development environment. The .sln and .fsproj files in the source directory should be understood by command line tools like the .NET Core dotnet build, Microsoft's msbuild or Mono's xbuild as well as by IDEs such as VisualStudio Code, VisualStudio, Monodevelop or Rider.

Usage

Bibliography can be started as a command line tool with a few subcommands. To get an overview of available options try

bibmgr --help

The web-based user interface is started when run without any options or like this:

bibmgr ui
