Installation

The best way to Install CV-Spline To Object is using CV-Toolbox, but it seems like you've manually downloaded this plugin set, so the following should work:

  1. Unzip the archive in your Cinema 4D Plugins Folder
    1. In C4D go to Edit > Preferences
    2. Click on Open Preferences Folder
    3. Navigate to plugins
    4. Copy/Drag the CV-SplineToObject folder into the plugins folder.
  2. Restart Cinema 4D
  3. Go to Plugins > CV-SplineToObject > CV-Load SplineToObject Palette...

Commands

CV-Extrude Splines Icon CV-Extrude Splines

Extrudes multiple splines in a single click. Intelligently names your objects. Don't sweat the small stuff, let us.

Features

  • If no splines are selected, it adds and Extrude object.
  • Extrudes each selected spline with a single click.
  • Extrude Object is named after spline
  • Extrude Object is placed in same location as spline
  • Extrude Object is oriented to match hand-drawn splines
  • Shift places all selected splines under a single object
  • Alt reverses the extrude direction
  • Takes individual spline orientations into account - even hand-drawn splines.
  • Adds the Extrude object at the same location as the Spline in the hierarchy.

CV-Lathe Splines Icon CV-Lathe Splines

CV-Lathe Splines Dialog

Lathe objects in context. No need to reposition your reference to world-center, or only lathe around World Y. Lathe multiple objects where you want them to be, but give each it's own object for easier texturing. Save yourself the annoying work of perfectly lining up points on the Y-Axis in order to create a water-tight mesh.

  1. Select the splines you want to Lathe.
  2. Run CV-Lathe Splines.

CV-Sweep Splines Icon CV-Sweep Splines

9 times out of 10 you just want to create a pipe with an easily controlled number of segments. Now you can select as many splines as you want and easily sweep them with an N-Side polygon in a single click. Use the Scale to immediately after sweeping to adjust the pipe radius by eye.

CV-Convert to Loft Icon CV-Convert to Loft

Convert Splines to Loft

Select splines in space, and then loft them. Stop trying to differentiate between 15 splines named Spline.7.

Splines Lofted Splines Linear Interpolation w/o Cap

Convert Extrude to Loft

Give yourself the flexibility of playing with letter profiles along the length of an extrusion.

Convert Lathe to Loft

Start a shape w/ a Lathe, then tweak it as a Loft.

CV-Render Splines Icon CV-Render Splines

Make your splines renderable with a single-click. No need to remember to add hair tags to multiple objects, or a render effect, or special tags if you're working with deformed splines.
