Manually Remove Plugins Dialog blocks access to rest of dialog.

Issue #50 resolved
Donovan Keith created an issue

Closing and re-opening CV-Toolbox doesn't allow me to circumvent the "Please manually remove..." dialog.

Instead of the "Please restart CINEMA 4D..." message perhaps a couple buttons:

[Open Plugins Folders] [Remove Later]

I thought your opinion last week was that we shouldn't let them do anything until they fix the problem?

I do plan on adding some buttons to the bottom - didn't get that far yet.

I think it would make the most sense if they want to update a specific plugin that they get locked out of the install process until they resolve the issue. If I just want to download a few scripts on a client's computer, I don't want to go through the process of removing everything first. However if I want to download the latest plugin I should be forced through this process.

Perhaps in the "Available" plugins list make plugins that were manually installed orange with a message like (Reinstall with Toolbox to check for updates)

OK that makes more sense to me - I guess I misunderstood last week.

I'm not sure if it jives though with the auto-reinstall thing.

    How about this?

Disable the checkbox, add a tag "**MANUALLY INSTALLED", use disabled colors, and add more descriptive info in the Description.

Looks good, I like the header.

    Perhaps:

    ArtSmart WARNING

"It looks like you manually installed this plugin, as a result CV-Toolbox can't detect its version or install the latest updates. Please remove [Plugin Name] and re-install it via CV-Toolbox to ensure you always have the latest version. [Click Here For Detailed Instructions]"

Click here... would link to a page on the CV Toolbox BitBucket wiki. Removing Installed Plugins

You probably found this page thanks to a warning in CV Toolbox warning you that manually installed a plugin.

Plugins in C4D are typically installed in one of two places: your user preferences folder, or the plugins folder in your applications directory:

Removing Plugins from the User Preferences Folder

    1. Open Cinema 4D.
    2. Edit > Preferences
    3. Click on the "Open Preferences Folder" button
    4. Open the plugins folder
    5. Move the folder containing the plugin you want to uninstall to your desktop (as a temporary backup in case it's the wrong folder). a. If you're having difficulty finding the plugin, there's a chance it's in a subdirectory. Use your OS's search feature to find the installation. b. If you still can't find a fold that seems like a good candidate, it's probably located in your application plugin directory.
    6. Close Cinema 4D
    7. Re-open Cinema 4D
    8. Look to see if the plugin you were looking to remove is still installed, if not, you can delete the folder from the desktop.
    9. If it's still installed, you removed the wrong folder. Drag the folder from your desktop back into your plugins folder and repeat steps 5-9

Removing Plugins from the System Plugins Folder
