Basic Clock for LCD sys info usb device

Simple clock, machine temperature, and disk space display for the cheap usb color LCD from Cold Tears (lcdsysinfo). Works under Linux and Windows. I'm using this as a cheap replacement for http://code.google.com/p/dava33display/wiki/PythonVersion

This clock requires the pylcdsysinfo python library. It is known to work with https://github.com/dangardner/pylcdsysinfo/commit/98e1b802b1cf8ce7a7482343d85b9449b4f8459e

PyUSB is also needed, pyusb-1.0.0a2 is known to work.

Example setup:

pip install git+https://github.com/clach04/pylcdsysinfo.git@mymaster

Then to enable large clock support run:

# or
python load_custom_icons.py

If you don't want to write the icons to the devices flash, edit myclock.ini, and comment out the time = gfx line:

# default for time is 'text'
#time = gfx

Then start the clock:

Raspberry Pi note

This works on a Raspberry Pi, make sure your power supply can handle the additional usb load. With Raspbian wheezy you can use the python-usb package, via apt-get install python-usb, if the usb rules are not in place from pylcdsysinfo you can run myclock.py as root (please use the rules file instead) with:

sudo python myclock.py
