Code: Licensing of former R code

Issue #9 closed
Andy Nowacki created an issue

Clarify the licensing situation for the code which has been ported from R code in demodulate and the file MDmwps.jl. If this package is licensed as GPLv2, what was the licence for the R code, is it compatible, and please include any copyright notices of the original code if applicable.

For Rahim’s R code demodulate from the R multitaper package, the license is GPL-2 so I’ve added a note [here](https://bitbucket.org/clhaley/multitaper.jl/commits/4938ac563731719bf667e6471343df4e14a80f78#chg-src/Demodulation.jl).

For Chave’s matlab code MDmwps on the matlab file exchange, I’ve copied the license info at the bottom of MDmwps.jl (though that file does include some of my original routines as well). See [commit](https://bitbucket.org/clhaley/multitaper.jl/commits/10dae6a177d21f028b0da9c10f007f15828c55e1).

I hope this properly documents the source.

I’m not qualified to give a legal opinion, but my understanding is that because your work is GPL-2, and Chave’s Matlab code is ~BSD/MIT, this is fine now.
