Foo Cyrus, the leader of the most powerful gang in New York City, the Gramercy Riffs, calls a midnight summit for all the area gangs, with all asked to send nine unarmed representatives for the conclave. A gang called The Warriors are blamed for killing Cyrus as he gives his speech. They now have to cross the territory of rivals in order to get to their own 'hood. The Warriors slowly cross the dangerous Bronx and Manhattan territories, narrowly escaping police and other gangs every step of the way. Cyrus, the messianic leader of the Grammercy Riffs, calls for a truce among all the gangs in New York City and asks them all to meet. During the meeting Cyrus proposes that all the gangs unite to form one super gang so that they can take over the city. Unfortunately, as he is addressing the various gangs, he is shot by Luther, the homicidal leader of a gang known as the Rogues. Luther then accuses Cleon, the leader of the Warriors, as the assassin and he is killed by the other gangs. However, the rest of the Warriors escape but now they have a price on their head and the rest of the gangs hunt for the Warriors as they try to make their way back to their home in Coney Island. All the gangs of New York converge in a park to listen to a prophet like man named Cyrus who plans on bringing all of the gangs together for complete control of the city. Unfortunately it's all cut short when he ends up shot on stage and it's our heroes The Warriors who are accused of doing the dirty deed. Now they must go through all the hostile gang territory just to get back to the safety of their own turf. This isn't easy especially with a Tokyo Rose like D.J. networking information about their whereabouts to all the other gangs. Very highly stylized gangland adventure will most certainly not hold up to the critical eye. The stars all look like they were ripped right off of some teen heart throb magazine. Star actor Michael Beck alone looks like he spent hours in front of the mirror just to get that perfect half stern, half philosophical look to his stance. The fight scenes look like choreographed dance numbers and some of the gangs uniforms look like costumes that were worn by the Village People (although the face painted baseball bat wielding group do look genuinely creepy). Yet if you suspend your belief for a while this revved up 70's style music video is actually a lot of fun. The suspense is good, the action almost non stop , and the electronic score is real funky (we are reviewing a 70's movie here so I'm using a 70's term sorry). Besides in a certain way you get the feeling that Director Hill is very subtly making fun of this whole gang thing. The famous line "Warriors come out and play" will ring in your ears long afterwards especially when coupled with that thick Jersey accent. The most dazzling aspect is actually the opening credits. Done in blood red lettering, super imposed over a streaking subway station, and then driven at you like a actual subway car. I generally don't like action movies but The Warriors is an

exception to the rule. For good straight-out action and fun, I highly

recommend this film.

The movie is tense, with the title "heroes", The Warriors, constantly

kept on the run by rival gangs, and full of hard-knuckle

confrontation at every turn. The film looks quite dated now due to

characters with big afros, packing switch-blades and baseball

bats instead of guns, graffiti-covered subway cars, and gangs

wearing matching outfits (as opposed to a red or blue hanker- chief, gold chains and butt-hanging pants!), but for plain ole', kick- @$$, gang fights, this ones got it all! You'll never see so many

baseball bats being swung, cracking heads and being broken

over someone's stomach or back in your life (if you enjoy that sort

of thing!). And the fighting in this film is the realistic kind, none of

the computer enhanced silliness of combatants dueling in mid-air,

or running up walls and flying across the room, that we constantly

see in today's schlock!

The acting, particularly certain characters' deliveries of some of the

dialogue, is a little cheesy sometimes but over-all good. And the

soundtrack, the main theme in particular, is driving and adds to the

tension set by the pacing of both the plot and editing. Also the

cinematography and lighting are superb; for a movie that takes

place almost completely in the dark (night) it is always clear and lit

well enough to see every detail. Just generally well directed and

well made.

7/10 A good-time, pop-corn, action flick! The Warriors is a deeply silly movie. Its gangs are ridiculous comic-book figures. Still, director Walter Hill treats its world with total seriousness. Bleak synthesizer drones thrum and throb. The streets glow with slickly inky-black greasiness. Nobody smiles. It’s so awesome. Original version:

DVD release: 2001, purple/blue cover

Picture quality: Okay, but with some of the artifacts expected in what was then a 22-year-old cut of film.

Sound: Original mono.

Cut: Original cut as seen in theaters.

Extras: Nothing.

Availability: Now out of print, but still fairly easy to get hold of secondhand for very cheap.

Director's cut:

DVD release: 2005, red-orange cover

Picture quality: Greatly restored and cleaned up, worthy of DVD.

Sound: Remastered stereo surround, very well done.

Cut: Some new short comic-book-style transitions (1-3 seconds) inserted between some scenes, and a new short intro comparing the adventure to the classic Greek story it was based upon.

Extras: Some really good documentaries and interviews, pure gold to Warriors fans.

Availability: Common and in print, low-end DVD price, usually on shelves at major DVD stores.

Fans are very divided on the comic transitions, with some saying it actually ruins the movie while others aren't affected at all by them. But even people who totally hate the comic stuff tend to really like the rest of the goodies on the new disc.

Basically, if you're a fan of the film, you probably won't regret getting both versions. They're fairly cheap as DVDs go, and since it is out of print that original edition won't be so easy to get hold of forever. Additionally, the Director's Cut was released on Blu-ray and the now-defunct HD-DVD format. Both of these HD releases contain the same features as the DVD. A remake of this film was announced in 2005. Set to be produced by MTV films with Tony Scott directing, it would share the original film's basic idea of a gang stranded outside its turf. However, it would be set on the West Coast instead of New York and take place in modern times rather than a dystopian setting. It wasn't done with the approval or participation of Walter Hill or anyone else involved with the original.

Since that announcement, a few minor rumors surfaced (mainly the suggestion that this would feature real gang members as extras, a persistent rumor that has not been confirmed by any official source), but no solid information has been announced by MTV or Tony Scott since the original announcement.

Time has passed since that announcement, and Tony Scott himself died in 2012. Nobody's heard anything about this remake in quite a while. Apart from speculation, and the pushing forward of the release date on the remake's IMDb entry a couple of times (it's been quietly changed from 2006, to 2007, to 2008, all the way to 2014 as deadlines passed with no movie; you can find the entry at http://imdb.com/title/tt0423512/.) There hasn't been a scrap of information about it since the original announcement and Tony Scott's one interview at MTV in 2005. All that info is on http://warriorsmovie.co.uk (click "New movie") - a page on the main "Warriors" fan site, which hasn't changed or updated for a couple of years now.)

At this point, it appears that the project is at least on hold and, at most, dead. 1. Cleon (Dorsey Wright): the warlord, leader and founder of the gang. He wears a leopard-patterned cloth around his head and a Native American-style necklace.

2. Swan (Michael Beck): the war chief, second-in-command of the gang, and the central focus of the film. He's the tall white guy with long hair who becomes Mercy's boyfriend.

3. Ajax (James Remar): the guy who wears fingerless leather gloves and a black tank-top.

4. Vermin (Terry Michos): the fellow who always looks worried. White with scraggily hair, he often voices the down side of things.

5. Cochise (David Harris): the African American wearing Native American-style jewelry, leather pants, and boots. He sports an afro with a red bandanna tied around it.

6. Fox (Thomas G. Waites): the gang's scout, a white guy with curly brown hair he is the one who sees Cyrus shot.

7. Rembrandt (Marcelino Sánchez): the gang's graffiti artist, he wears the standard Warrior's vest along with a messenger bag and an afro.

8. Snow (Brian Tyler): a stoic African American Warrior with an afro.

9. Cowboy (Tom McKitterick): the warrior, who wears a Stetson cowboy hat and a shirt underneath his vest.

Cleon is murdered by the Gramercy Riffs. Ajax is arrested after attempting to sexually assault an undercover police officer. Fox is thrown in front of a train by a police officer. Mercy is the young woman whom they meet when the encounter the orphans, and she becomes and integral part of the rest of the movie. The other six (along with Mercy) Warriors make it back to Coney Island. 646f9e108c https://7gogo.jp/lIFp6W5A5Nxf http://ryaglucalangi.wapka.me/forum2_theme_112963737.xhtml?tema=230 http://ronwithscomtiha.simplesite.com/433961456/6633776/posting/super-fuzz-full-movie-in-hindi-free-download-hd-1080p http://charpekemafo.simplesite.com/433967189/6633786/posting/contessa-meets-duquessa-movie-in-hindi-free-download http://bitbucket.org/hapmimortheart/hapmimortheart/issues/48/tai-quan-zhen-jiu-zhou-movie-in-tamil http://atamtonfeofun.wap-ka.com/forum2_theme_112965422.xhtml?tema=248 http://graph.org/Roadhouse-66-Movie-Free-Download-Hd-09-19 http://ntemadackesyl.wap-ka.com/site_222.html https://nocpetigesycomarci.wixsite.com/windresige/blog/sons-of-thunder-full-movie-free-download http://altencau.jugem.jp/?eid=296
