Chnage name of output directory?

Issue #29 resolved

First of all, I wanted to thank you and everyone else who works on this project. It's great and I've been using it for many years!

I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard (yeah, I'm a little behind :-) and am missing some functionality that I used to have: The ability to have printed documents go to be the Desktop.

I used to simply have docs appear on my Desktop. Unfortunately, I don't recall how I set it up last time.

This is different from having an alias to /Users/Shared/CUPS-PDF somewhere on my desktop or on the dock. It's much more convenient to simply have this stuff dropped onto my Desktop where I will remember to file it in the correct place.

I tried making a symbolic link from the /Users/Shared/CUPS-PDF/my-username directory to my desktop (and confirmed I could write to it by touching a file which immediately appeared), but for some reason CUPS-PDF won't honor the link. You can't make hard links to directories :(

I see in my console log the following:

PrinterProxy[1834] .sdef warning for argument 'FileType' of command 'save' in suite 'Standard Suite': 'saveable file format' is not a valid type name.

I suppose I could write an automator script that watched this dir and just moved anything that appeared to my desktop ...

Any other suggestions as to how I might get this back?

Many, many thanks for any insight you can provide!

The output dir is specified in the /etc/cups/cups-pdf.conf file and must be owned by root. Ensure the target of the symlink you just made is owned by root and it should work.
