Unhelpful error returned from "Insert Conditional"

Issue #27 new
Chris Cilino created an issue

I’ve not wired in all of the required inputs to “Test Executive\Source\Test Executive\TestExecutive Ref\Insert Conditional.vi” and it returns the error

“Linked Lists.lvlib:Linked List.lvclass:Evaluate Unique ID.vi:5530001<ERR>
The wired GUID is not valid

<b>Complete call chain:</b>
Linked Lists.lvlib:Linked List.lvclass:Evaluate Unique ID.vi:5530001
Linked Lists.lvlib:Linked List.lvclass:Move Linked List.vi:4900001
Linked Lists.lvlib:Linked List Ref.lvclass:Copy Linked List.vi:7310001
Test Executive.lvlib:Test Executive.lvclass:Insert Conditional.vi:5030001
Test Executive.lvlib:TestExecutive Ref.lvclass:Insert Conditional.vi:5030001
Test Executive Semantics.lvclass:Test_Insert Conditional.vi

While true, this is unhelpful. No input is named “GUID”. Which input GUID is invalid? I assume we mean the passing or failing executive or variable x or y. Once these inputs are change to required, some of the problem will be alleviated but if an invalid GUId is wired in, the specific input needs to be called out to the user. Example “Variable X GUID is invalid”. Better yet “Variable X Attribute ID is invalid”.
