9.24 Gson shading does not seem to be working

When using the library in an android project with other libraries which also pull in gson like Google Tink. I will get duplicate class error during compilation due to the shading of gson no done in 9.24. The shading is working fine in 9.23 as i can see all the json seriliazing classes inside the com.numbusds package. Below is the package structure image of version 9.23.
