json-smart has a version range in the dependency declaration

It would be fine if it was optional and/or shaded (like in https://bitbucket.org/connect2id/nimbus-jose-jwt), but when it is mandatory and specified as a version range it cause unstable builds downstream.

Hi David,

The next 9.0 release will upgrade to Nimbus JOSE+JWT 9.0 (where the dep is shaded) and then in a 10.0 release the dep will also be shaded here.

The range is there because some people insist on JSON Smart 1.3.x , others on 2.x.

If you have issues with the range you can “lock” to a specific version by declaring an explicit JSON Smart dep with the version you prefer.
