Add setting: store via webhook, even when I press 'no' to the "record phone call" prompt

Issue #2211 resolved
Chris S created an issue

When I say "no" to the "record phone call" prompt, or I hide the prompt by pressing the back or home button, no phone call is record and no webhook is called.

Can you add a setting that says: "always call webhook after each phone call" (ignoring the user prompt)

For me, this allows me to record locally when I want it (that's what the user prompt is for, I am not interested into having all phone calls locally on my phone), and store the phone call remotely ALL the time for analytic purposes and not worried about not forgetting the user prompt. I know I can disable the prompt, but I do not want to do that.

Small bonus (hope this never happens): when my phone is nicked/stolen and he does a phone call, I have evidence of what is going on/who he is calling to (I do also have other app to see where the phone is). He will not press 'record phone call' as you may guess :-)

Hi, Cloud services including webhook would only run if you say yes on that prompt. ACR would show a notification and cloud upload would run after you act in it when you skip and hit home.

This is the default behaviour and we cannot change that at this time

You are stating exactly what I said: "When I say "no" to the "record phone call" prompt, or I hide the prompt by pressing the back or home button, no phone call is record and no webhook is called."

For me, it would be desired to have a setting that 'ignores' this user prompt and do a call as configured.

I'm sure the word 'cannot' is NOT the first thing a developer thinks of. And I know because I am one.

That would defeat the whole idea of consumer deciding what ACR should do.

If recording is not wanted there is no need to upload it. You can simply keep it if you want it to be uploaded.

Perhaps you are considering this feature for some sort of corporate usage. Unfortunately ACR is consumer based application.

So in summary, you say "your setting would defeat the whole idea of a consumer deciding what ACR should do"... which I find strange, because my suggested setting --> IS <-- to decide what ACR should do. I AM the user, and I decide to upload it, but not store it locally (it's only not possibly yet).

"If recording is not wanted there is no need to upload it" is such a statement that you always teached yourself as the truth .... until you saw this feature proposal, because I proved otherwise (hence this written feature proposal!). Recording is wanted, but not always locally!

At my work, if a user story seems odd at first sight, it often says something about your own perspective of what your users do/want/perform with your software, but there is always a problem/wish underlying every user story, which cannot be denied.

Other question: Where does ACR store the call recording, before the user prompt is answered with "yes" or "no" ?

Don't get me wrong. I understand your reasoning and why you might to want it to behave that way.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to at that feature at this time. It requires few changes and new translations for over 50 languages to add a setting to switch it on and off.

However, I will add it to our request list
