Call recording support on Samsung Galaxy S5

Issue #70 resolved
copluk repo owner created an issue

There are conflicting reports about call recording support on S5. So far I have people complaining about ACR is not working and I have people praising that ACR is working on S5.

I am trying to find out which variants of S5 support call recording. Known variants of S5 are:

SM-G900F (International Qualcomm)

SM-G900H (International Exynos)

SM-G900M (Middle and South America)

SM-G900R4 (US Cellular)

SM-G900T (T-Mobile US)

SM-G900P (Sprint)

SM-G900T1 (Metro PCS)

SM-G900W8 (Canada)

Could you please post screenshot of your S5's about section and report if ACR works on yours? Please post what error you get if it doesn't

Update 01/05/2014

From user reports we have gathered, it seems recording over Bluetooth is broken on S5 and creates a buzzing sound just like on Note 3 issue but only with Bluetooth

Working perfectly on SM-G900F (using FLAC and using the internal memory as folder to store the records... haven't changed anything else) Screenshot_2014-04-19-23-26-05.png

Currently Android doesn't support 2 way call recording over Bluetooth. No call recording app will be able to record 2 way over Bluetooth

I have tried 5 apps and i did have it working on my S4 using CALL RECORDER then I ungraded to the S5 and it crapped out. I tried 5 different apps and all only record one way - my voice. I've changed this and changed that done everything and can't get it to work via Blue tooth (Plantronics) and its a real pain. Can anyone tell me the settings to use on an APP with an S5 using blue tooth and I'll try that. I'm at my wits end on this and wasting a pile of time.

    I'm so annoyed about this...

Do you know anyway around this I like to record all our phone calls. It does not work on the S3 or the S5 but my S4 worked fine using 'Call Recorder'. Do you know any way around this? Using another type of microphone maybe??? Any help would be appreciated. Please email me john@ipinz.co.nz Android have a lot to answer for as this is a major cock up.

Bluetooth will not work. Please read other Comments on this article and my update. But as others state call recording works on s5 assuming. There are no other call recording apps installed and bluetooth not used

Do you know ANY app that can record using blue tooth? Also do you think Sumsung will fix this problem?

Last question does a hard wired set of head phones work????

  11. John

    YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can confirm I got it going using Blue Tooth on an S4. Its the S5 that's the problem!

It works with s4 but not with s5 I have said before it's not Android that has Restrictions. it must be otherwise malfunctioning for it worked fine with s4

  13. Siversson

Curiously, why does it work on s4 but not on s5, what sets them apart besides various android versions. s4 android 4.2.2 s5 android 4.4.2 can it be hardware related it seems to be similar errors on Note3 what was done to fix it?
