Generate proper thumbnails in photo book

The thumbs generated in the photo book are always displayed in a 4:3 ratio, even when the original photo isn't. It's fugly.

... these thumbs aren't generated by the website itself, are they? :( I noticed they are just imported form fotocie.svcover.nl.

As a side effect, the login requirement of some collections isn't enforced this way. Everyone can go to the Chantagemap and click around.

Correct, when running the fotocie script to generate thumbnails, thumbnails are created and stored on the server. There is no dynamic thumbnail generation going on. So if you want different thumbs, kick the FotoCie.

So no bug, but a feature.

Also, can you create a different issue for the Chantagemap being directly accessible?

I would propose to access the photos directly through the file system and generate the thumbnails ourselves.

This way we have more control over the presentation of the photos and the FotoCie is no longer required to run their script which generates thumbnails. Just uploading photos and marking it as 'public' on the website would be sufficient.
