Enabling Site Title - Adds Site's Full name Additionally

I can understand, either the CHECK BOX of enabling Site Title

or

Editor, typing in site title

If both check box is checked and text written in site title, then in addition to displaying site's full name, it as well shows up whatever is typed in Site Title Editor.

Can either be removed? if someone wants to display site title, then just clicking check box will enable it, else if someone wants to display something else, then typing in Site Title editor will display that, I have tried keeping check box unchecked and typing in text box, that doesn't shows up alone.

or is that I am missing something in understanding the use of check box together with input box?
