No #region-main if logged in as student

Issue #539 on hold
Alexander Goryntsev created an issue

Many activities look differently depending on how you have been logged in. If you are an admin then there is the #region-main area everywhere where the content is placed. On my site it is highly visible as the #region-main color differs from the site general background color (white on tan). But if you are a student then in some activities the #region-main just disappears.

I'm attaching six screenshots by pairs. The first one shows an activity (forum, workshop and questionnaire) while logged in as admin. You can see the white #region-main. The second one shows the same activities on the same site of the same course but as students see it. There is no white #region-main anymore!

I reported this issue to the main moodle tracker and this is the answer that I got from David Mudrák:

    Thanks Alexander for reporting this.

What theme are you using? I can't reproduce the issue on the default Clean theme and I suspect it will be a bug in your theme, rather than in the Workshop itself. The region-main section is not rendered by the Workshop. The module starts producing its content a bit deeper in the HTML structure. This looks like an issue with the layout files of your theme.
