Third party components and RS-485 port question

Issue #147 resolved
Aleksandr created an issue

Good afternoon! 1) Is there a way to use third-party FMX components together with the FMX Linux? For example Woll2Woll Fierepover or TMS FMX UI? 2) I need to write a program that will read the data from the RS-485 port, is there any ready-made component for the FMX Linux or sample code?

Best regards Artamokhin Aleksandr

Unfortunately, at the moment there is no ready-made component for working with the com port in Delphi for Linux. Wrote an e-mail to the developer Winsoft (https://www.winsoft.sk/acomport.htm), he replied that he has a component to work with a com port for Android, using Linux API and he will think about it's adaptation for the FMX Linux.

There is also a line of Mitov Communications LAB components (http://www.mitov.com/products/communicationlab#overview), in which there is also a component for working with the com port. But it does not work with Linux yet. Although the other components from this line work with the FMX Linux!!!

The author of these components is actively revising its components for Linux at the moment.

There is a component (with source files) for working with the com port for Lazarus and Free Pascal named 5dpo (https://sourceforge.net/projects/sdpo-cl/) . But to rewrite it for Delphi 10.2 is doubly difficult.
