When you make a mistake on the password field and want to modify it after having already typed something, re-focusing on the password field will clear or delete all the characters that have been typed.

This happens on most mobile devices.

Steps to Re-produce:

1. Be on a mobile devices (iOS or Android)
2. Type something in ‘Password’ field.
3. Un-focus from the ‘Password’ field by press on anywhere but the password field.
4. Focus the ‘Password’ field again by pressing on it.
