Poor Performance Issues.

Issue #54 new

I'm not very sure how to explain this well but, ill do the best I can.

I believe that when MangaDLR is moved to the foreground after being in the background (when multitasking). A new instance of MangaDLR is opened on top of the existing activity. Either that or Hardware acceleration is disabled upon reopening the application.

Symptoms include:

  1. Choppy animations.

  2. Extremely slow loading times.

  3. Endless loop when trying to accessing chapters from favorites.

I believe this because if I press back a couple times (when experiencing the choppy UI). Instead of making it back to the homescreen, I am sent to the overview of chapter of a manga I was reading 20 minutes ago and by then, the UI is now smooth I experience no more problems.

I see is as a minor problem because of just pressing back a couple times fixes it.

I think it's a bug in android, I have sometimes the same problem with others apps. It seems that sometimes, when you press the app icon, it open a new instance and after you press the back button, the second instance is closed and you can continue with the first instance. I don't have the problem if the app is in the background and I reopen it from the recent apps list.

Ah I see. Know of any application that can take notice, and prevent this? I have a Galaxy Note 4 and know that Samsung aggressively kills background tasks, so that may be it.

I have VERY limited knowledge about this, so I cannot help much. But what about this? Link
