gl_render_immediate has rendering bugs and is needed for good 3dfx performance

Frank Sapone created an issue

3dfx performance is not the same as v1.2. With gl_render_immediate (which would disable the vertex buffer arrays) the speed returns. However, there are rendering errors. These rendering errors are also present on modern cards, indicating a bug in the code itself and not the hardware.
