Noise and cracks when activating Miles sound in 22/44/48

Hi there,

my sound (background music and sound effects) have nasty background noises when activating Miles instead of OpenAL.

Any ideas how to debug?

This is a problem on Windows 10 (maybe 8?) and later. Miles is intended for Win9x/WinXP. OpenAL works fine on XP and later.
