Daikatana.exe doesn't open, Launching through steam doesn't use the patch

So, I've followed the instructions with the minimal variations needed to make use of the patch in the steam version, and yet when launched through steam the patch doesn't seem to work and when launched by using the .exe itself it gives me this. Keep in mind I have installed both the 32 and 64 bit versions and the issue is the same.

What seems to be the issue and what do I have to do to make it work?

Additional info to have in mind: I'm running the game in Windows 7 x64.

It looks like you installed the game in F:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Daikatana\data instead of F:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Daikatana\ with the installer. It can't find Pak1, Pak2, and Pak3.

Ah I see, it defaulted to that when I first installed the patch. Thanks for the help though. Here we goooo.

It defaults to whatever folder you execute it in if there is no registry entry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, "SOFTWARE\Eidos Interactive\Daikatana\1.00.000.

It did just perfectly. Thanks for the help! Now I can get fragged by the first dual gun robot of the game and not have an exc use xD
