Improve Gems save system

I tried to play the whole game with that system. In some ways, I liked. But in the end was too frustrating. I propose some suggestion to improve easily:
The main idea is to give to the player for 1 gem, “x” saves. For example:
- Easy mode: For 1 gem = 5 saves
- Medium mode: For 1 gem = 3 saves
- Hard mode: For 1 gem = 2 saves
The places where the gems are for me are okey and fun.

Someone (not me) would need to make ent files that hand pick the ones which need to stay/go using spawnflags. Not impossible, but I don’t have time for this. If you’d like to personally take this project on I can help you get started with it.
