Daikatana 1.3 has major issues with nVidia driver 344.11
When I ran the latest version of 1.3 with 344.11 with a GTX 660Ti, the game never got past a grey screen. I had to close the game via the Task Manager in order to shut it down. Strangely, the console showed that everything was normal. I had to revert to an older driver in order to fix this.
For curiosity's sake, I tested it with 1.2 and had the same problem, but I did manage to get an error message out of it; "RImp_EndFrame() - SwapBuffers() failed!". I"m not sure if it'll help, but what the hell.
This is very likely something on nVidia's end, but I figured I'd give you all a heads-up.

Does this also happen on other patched id Tech2 engines, like KMQuake2, EGL and Quake2Evolved?
The 344.16 WHQL drivers are already out, see if they fix this: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/78216/en-us

Also make sure gl_no_error_check is set to 1.

reporter Ok, just reinstalled 344.11 and told it not to wipe my settings and now both 1.3 and 1.2 work without a hitch. Weird.

I was unable to replicate this with my GT 630 and NVS 5400M using the latest nVidia 344.11 WHQL driver in Windows 7 Professional and Windows 8.1 Pro.

- changed status to resolved
Issue was most likely due to a bad driver install.

Hmm... Interesting. I need to update my nVidia drivers on my Windows machine to see if this happens with my GT 630 too.
