what operating system? what GPU? did you add pak4.pak? what is this even supposed to mean? you're in windowed mode and the game is frozen, or you're in windowed mode and can't switch to fullscreen?

oh and are you even using daikatana 1.3 executables or the ones from GOG?

Can't reproduce, works for me (with gamedata from GOG and Linux Binaries).
