Shiny weapons don't work on ion blaster

maybe there is other buggy weapons too. anyway, did that effect works as it was intended and not screwed up by a bug that presented in all official versions? because for me it looks like it was poorly implemented and broken from the beginning

The ion blaster and some other weapons were never intended to be shiny. That said, you can force the effect by setting gl_envmap to 2.
