K-Space Tab Cluttered with Thera Connections

Issue #185 closed
Kronovestan created an issue

Thera connections persist on page even if the checkbox for "include eve-scout's Thera chain" is unchecked.

I've tried creating a new Tab, updating settings, etc nothing works. An alt account is just fine so I know it's not the browser/computer. I've attached a screen shot to show the check box is UNCHECKED and it's still showing.

Can anyone please assist? I have a feeling it's a setting stuck on my account.

Thank you!

    Ashy,

I think something is wrong with my account. I’ve unchecked this and it’s not working. See previous request as it states “unchecking the box does not work”. Thanks you!

nono, its the radio button. you want the radio button ABOVE to be ticked. Do NOT tick the k-space radio button

    Couple things...

1 - why do you want a k space tab, what function does it perform for you?

2 - what do you mean your alt account is fine? With the rework of the code, you shouldn't need multiple accounts to track multiple characters.

Ashy, we have over 300 connections and I need to see ALL of them, not the one specific system. The way you’re explaining is if I wanted to see only the connections on Amarr or Jita or whatever K-space you need.

I just installed tripwire on Ubuntu and it’s working correctly with those options I just showed in the screenshot and then when I uncheck the TAB on the top left it shows the current system.

The radio button is just to see that ONE system in you specify. Again I need to see ALL systems tripwire has. Not just the 1 on that TAB.

Installed Tripwire on Ubuntu? You don't "install" tripwire anywhere. You mean you tested Tripwire on Ubuntu? Also, answer the questions I posed to you so I can narrow down your use case.

Also, I went back to Tripwire and logged in for the first time in ages, and checked my "k-space" tab. It had the Thera connections, even though I had the box for Thera unchecked. I checked the box, unchecked the box, saved, and POOF, they're gone. No more clutter. Try that, and report back to me.

Ok, I don’t see how they have anything to do with getting it fixed, but here are your answers:

    For:

1 - why do you want a k space tab, what function does it perform for you? We need to be able to see the mapped systems we have. Able to scroll through it and see what areas are able to be connected from.

2 - what do you mean your alt account is fine? With the rework of the code, you shouldn't need multiple accounts to track multiple characters. Well the two characters are different corps and the data should not be shared. Separate account logged into trip wire I’m able to map connections and NOT see the Thera. If I click on that EVE scout box, sure it pops up just exactly like Kronovestans. If I uncheck it then eve scout data Thera connections go away. (on the ALT account). On Kronovestan’s account it does not go away. Checking or unchecking that box that says the Thera connections will not do ANYTHING.

Here is a screenshot from the alternate Tripwire I’ve setup and imported some sigs. http://i.imgur.com/BKoWnsi.png

It’s working great. Same TAB settings.

Restating - the problem is with the checkbox for eve-scout data. It’s not getting rid of the Thera Connections to K-Space.

    Thanks!

    OK, do this for me....

In Chrome, Open tripwire and go to the tab you wish to not have Thera on.

Once there, right click the window and click "Inspect".

Go to the Console, and once there, type in the following, without quotes:

    "console.log(options.chain.tabs[options.chain.active].evescout);"

    Your response should show "true".

Once you have verified that it shows "true", type in:

    "options.chain.tabs[options.chain.active].evescout = false"

When you do this, it will echo "false" at you. This is fine.

Re-enter the first command I gave you, only this time, it should return "false".

Go back to the tab, and toggle it so it is not the "Active Tab", and then back to the "Active Tab".

You should no longer see Thera connections on your tab at all.

Can you advise how to do this in Firefox? If not I can go install Chrome. Thank you again for your quick responses!

I did just as you instructed…The pic below shows the order and the result of the console log.

I’ve clicked the Tab off and back on several times now to see and it’s still there. Here is a screen shot set of tab off and on.

There is no sig ID for Thera sigs on ANY of the solar systems Thera is showing up on. I’d assume there was an ID down there you could delete but it’s missing.

Kronovestan, if you're using Wingspan's Tripwire, then the Eve-Scout option should have no effect. That's because Eve-Scout is on the public Tripwire server and Wingspan is on a private one. The connections you see were added by Wingspan members, either manually or with auto tracking.

I just checked the K-space tab and it is working as intended: it displays all the wormhole chains with at least one k-space exit. Hit me on WDS Slack in #tripwire channel if you need more help.

Valtyr I was using their tripwire to see if it's any different. It is. It works correctly. It was a control to see if the settings are the same. It's still broken on the main eve-apps tripwire I'll try to jump on Slack and see if I can show you.

I've tested it with my own server, and wingspans and it they behave the same. The eve-apps server is behaving differently.

Something is up with my Tripwire account on the eve-apps server. Can you delete it and I can recreate it?

Per Daimian, no, he will not delete your account, because that could cause more issues.

He says to try clicking the "Reset Settings" button in the options, click save, and then try. Should be as close to resetting your account to new as possible.

Deleting an account would be like using a sledge hammer to change the oil in your car, it might partially work but in the long run will cause more issues then it fixed.
